Indian Space Research Organisation has launched PSLV C43 rocket from Sriharikota’s launchpad carrying hyperspectral imaging satellite and 30 foreign satellites. At 9.58 am on Thursday ISRO marked the day by introducing India’s first hyperspectral imaging satellite (HysIS) which is an advanced earth observation satellite. Also, 30 commercial satellites are launched which includes one micro and 29 nanosatellites, they belong to 8 countries.
Space agency’s scientists and ISRO chairman K Sivan broke into cheers as the satellite rose into the polar sun-synchronous orbit. Being an earth observation satellite HysIS will be used for agriculture, soil survey, geology, environmental studies and detection of pollution from industries etc.
