With a vision to keep people engaged within its social network, Facebook has announced that it would be integrating Facebook Messenger, Instagram and Whatsapp. This allows users to send messages across the apps.
What does this integration mean?
A person can use Facebook messenger to send a message to his friend who only has a Whatsapp account.
How is this going to help the users?
A user can have only one application – Facebook Messenger/Whatsapp/Instagram to be reachable to his network of friends. Currently, this facility is not available, as all the three platforms are separate.
How is data security addressed?
Mark Zuckerberg has ordered encryption of all the three platforms. This will ensure the data is accessible only to the participating parties.
How will Facebook benefit?
Facebook can now extensively use its Ad Campaigns on all three platforms. This increases the visibility of the campaigns with broader reach among the audience.
