Microsoft has been increasing its focus on its partnership with Amazon and Alexa integration. Alexa accepted more of personal requests, Cortana helped with business needs. Hence Microsoft and Amazon performed the first integration at the “Build 2018” developers’ conference in May 2018.
Microsoft is bringing Amazon’s Alexa-enabled devices with Skype calling services by this week. The integration allows Alexa users to call mobile and landlines using SkypeOut. This gives an easy to make a call without touching smartphones. To initiate a call the following voice command has to be given to Echo Dot “Alexa, call Charles on Skype” and similarly one can make video or voice call using Echo spot or Echo show.
Using SkypeOut services Microsoft allows Echo customers to access most landlines and mobile number in 34 countries. As a launch offer, 200 free minutes of Skype phone calling service is offered.
Amazon Echo (Gen 1), Amazon Echo (Gen 2), Echo Plus (Gen 1), Echo Plus (Gen 2), Amazon Dot (Gen 2), Amazon Dot (Gen 3), A Amazon Show (Gen 1), Amazon Show (Gen 2) and Amazon Echo Spot are the list of devices compatible for the new service.
