Smriti Bhasin from TR Sports Academy in Bowenpally has yet again proved her excellence in the game of Tennis during ITF Juniors Tournaments held at Namibia Windhoek.
Aged 16 Smriti reached Semifinals during ITF U18 Junior Tournament (Week 1) Grade 4 matches held during 29 April – 03 May 2019. Girls Singles Championship was won by Lauren Cooper (USA) who happened to defeat Smriti in the semi-finals.
Being the only Indian Girl in the tournament, she defeated Carolina Azadinho during the first round and Isabella Nicholson during the second round and Isabella Weatherhead during the quarterfinals.
During the U18 ITF Junior Tournament (Week 2) Grade 5 matches held during 06 May – 11 May 2019 Smriti reached the finals. Smriti’s outstanding performance against Megan Kitago, Ruby Lombardt, Ines Stephani, Jessica Portwig, Lara Claudia Van Der Merwe during the initial round made her reach the finals. Smriti happened to get the runners-up title, Noa Dujardin bagged the Girls Singles championship.
