G Vijaya Nirmala , 75 a popular director and actress expired on 27 June due to age-related illness. She was admitted in the Continental Hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. She breathed her last on Thursday morning.
Vijaya Nirmala started her career at an early age with a Tamil movie Matsyarekha. She then went on to act in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films and acted in around 200 movies. She directed 44 Telugu films. She got the Guinness Book of World Records for being a woman to direct the most number of films.
Vijaya Nirmala lived with her husband Krishna and son Vijaya Naresh, while Mahesh Babu and Manjula Ghattamaneni are her step-children.
